About Apex

Established in 1994, Apex Forest & Wildfire Services Ltd is an industry-recognized forestry company based in Nelson B.C.

Our services include:

With over 29 years of experience managing fire crews, Apex now focuses on supplying certified Danger Tree Fallers and Assessors to the BC Wildfire Service. Our extensive expertise allows us to deliver exceptional firefighting training, providing participants with field-tested skills and practical knowledge to excel in the forest industry.

Doug Harrison

Doug has always had a passion for the outdoors and for the forest industry. He oversees the operations of Apex Forest & Wildfire Services Ltd.

He loves to work alongside his crews in the field and instructs many BC Wildfire Service firefighting courses, including power saw training and BCFSC new faller training. Doug likes to stay fit working fuel modification jobs which includes operating the tracked chipper.

Doug is:

  • A lead instructor for the BC Forest Safety Council Faller Supervisor course
  • Certified Faller Supervisor
  • QS/T – Qualified Supervisor / Trainer
  • FallCo – Falling Co-Ordinator for Wildfires
  • Danger Tree Specialist
  • Level 3 first aid attendant

Co- owner of Apex, Registrar & Office Manager

Brenda Tetz

Brenda, often works alongside Doug in the field and plays a vital role in the company’s operations.

She oversees Health and Safety, ensuring all protocols are followed, and serves as the office coordinator and registrar for fire suppression and power saw training. Her dedication to safety and organization keeps Apex running smoothly and ensures that all training participants receive exceptional support from start to finish.
